Why the Kumon Rewards & Recognition Program?
A note to parents:

We at GLC Kumon believes learning to implement goals and objectives is important for our children because it helps them develop life skills that facilitate planning for the future using a series of smaller steps that lead to positive rewards.

The Kumon Reward Program is more than rewarding achievements, it is but one method for students to learn to set goals and objectives.

Our main objective is not the reward itself, but for students to learn the habit of setting goals and having a purpose in their study.

By using the Kumon Reward Program, younger students can begin to see there is a reward beyond the knowledge they acquire during their study.

When we help a child set goals, we give him or her a vision of the future. Whether that would be saving up to buy a new toy, improving one's grade, goal-setting gives the child a positive focus that will encourage better decision making.

This focus encourages a child to think ahead about activities or behaviors that might get him or her closer or farther away from achieving their goal.

Parents can work together with their children to help them set goals and develop this focus.

Goal-setting lets a young person establish ideals for his or her life and encourages them to keep moving forward even when they encounter setbacks. When a child learns to set goals, they develop a sense of purpose. Children who have a sense of purpose in life tend to be more confident.

We at GLC Kumon are committed in the growth of our students in these areas and we believe the Reward Program is just one way to help us achieve our vision.
